Ranking the 2026 World Cup Kits

A World Cup is a fashion show as well as a football tournament, and 2026 has served up more than a hundred shirts across 48 nations. From France's copper-trimmed royal blue to Argentina's world-champion stripes, Germany's nod to 1990 and the bold experiments that missed, here is our ranking of the best and boldest kits on show, and how the four teams still standing measure up.

Still standing. With four teams left, the semi-finals are also a kit final. France against Spain in Dallas on 14 July pits the tournament's most praised shirt against Adidas's flag-inspired red, and England against Argentina in Atlanta on 15 July sets classic white against the world champions' stripes. Whoever lifts the trophy at MetLife on 19 July, the shirt they wear will be seen a billion times.

A hundred shirts, three big brands

Before the ranking, the lay of the land. The 2026 kits are dominated by the usual three names, with a handful of nations dressed by smaller brands.

Across the 48 squads there are more than one hundred jerseys on show, home, away, third and goalkeeper, with one widely shared count reaching 105. Adidas dresses the most federations at 14, including Argentina, Germany, Spain, Mexico and Belgium. Nike is next with 12, among them France, England, Brazil, the United States and Portugal, while Puma outfits 11 including Switzerland. The rest wear regional or challenger brands, but the three giants account for the large majority of the tournament.

The design story of 2026 is heritage with a twist. Adidas leaned into national flags and classic templates, Nike went bolder with host-country references and fashion-forward patterns, and almost every marquee shirt carries a nod to a past triumph. What follows is our editorial ranking, judged on design, heritage and how the shirts actually look under stadium lights, informed by the major kit rankings of the year.

The top six shirts, ranked

Our pick of the standout home shirts of the tournament, with one bold away kit that was too good to leave out.

01
NikeFrance, home
France

The consensus best kit of 2026. A deep Game Royal blue lifted by metallic copper accents on the crest and swoosh, chosen as a nod to the original colour of the Statue of Liberty before it oxidised, a neat wink at France's gift to its US hosts. A tonal zig-zag pattern carrying a stylised F runs through the fabric, finished with a clean white collar. Rated a ten out of ten in several rankings, and France get to wear it in a semi-final.

02
AdidasArgentina, home
Argentina

The most iconic stripes in football, done properly. Argentina's sky-blue and white keeps its classic look, but each blue stripe is layered in three shades that shift from light in the centre to dark at the edge, giving the shirt real depth. The two stars and the world champions badge from Qatar 2022 sit alongside a gold Adidas logo. Simple, beautiful and heavy with history.

03
AdidasGermany, home
Germany

One of the highest-rated shirts in fan polling for 2026. Adidas sent Germany off with a crisp white kit that pays homage to the 1990 World Cup-winning design, blending tradition with a modern cut. It topped several vote-based rankings and is a reminder that Germany and Adidas remain the sport's definitive kit partnership, even in a tournament where Die Mannschaft fell short on the pitch.

04
AdidasSpain, home
Spain

Heritage worn on the sleeve, literally. Spain's red home shirt carries thin repeating yellow pinstripes drawn from the national flag and crest, with the three shoulder stripes in red-yellow-red, and the word Espana on the back of the collar. Deep navy shorts and socks complete a smart, understated design. The other semi-finalist's shirt in Dallas, and a worthy match for France.

05
JordanBrazil, away
Brazil

The boldest swing of the tournament. Brazil's partnership with the Jordan brand produced a sleek inky-blue away shirt said to evoke the poison dart frogs of the country's jungles, a striking break from the familiar yellow. It will not be everyone's taste, and Brazil are already out, but for sheer ambition it earned a place on this list.

06
NikeEngland, home
England

Classic rather than daring. England's white home shirt has subtle jacquard patterning, thin navy shoulder piping and red side inserts, a HAPPY AND GLORIOUS slogan inside the collar and a single gold star above the crest for 1966. Some reviewers felt it played safe and it sat mid-table in the rankings, but it is a tidy, traditional kit, and England wear it in Atlanta.

How the last four measure up

Four teams remain, and their shirts tell four different stories, from the tournament's most admired kit to its most classic.

On kits alone, the Dallas semi-final is the pick of the two: France's copper-and-blue against Spain's flag-red is arguably the best-dressed match of the whole tournament. Atlanta is the classicist's tie, England's white and Argentina's stripes, two of the most recognisable shirts in the game. The bold, the divisive and the misses

Not every shirt landed. A few swung big and split opinion, and as usual the goalkeepers took the heaviest criticism.

The clearest pattern at the bottom of the rankings is goalkeeper kits. In fan voting, Saudi Arabia's goalkeeper shirt was rated the worst of the entire tournament, and the three lowest-scoring kits overall were all goalkeeper designs. That is normal: keepers wear a wider, wilder palette to stand apart from outfield players, so their shirts tend to divide opinion far more sharply than the home and away kits fans actually buy.

Among outfield shirts, the boldest experiments were the most divisive. Brazil's Jordan-made blue away kit thrilled some and horrified traditionalists, and a number of Nike's fashion-forward patterns drew the same split verdict. One footnote worth knowing before you buy: the smaller nations, often on challenger brands, produced some of the quiet hits of the tournament, with Curacao's away shirt topping one major fan vote as the best kit of 2026, a fitting flourish for the smallest country ever to reach a World Cup. Frequently asked questions

Which is the best kit at the 2026 World Cup?
France's home shirt is the most widely praised kit of the tournament. Made by Nike, it is a deep Game Royal blue lifted by metallic copper accents on the crest and swoosh, a nod to the original colour of the Statue of Liberty before it oxidised, with a subtle zig-zagged F pattern across the fabric and a crisp white collar. Argentina's world-champion stripes and Germany's 1990 homage are the other kits most often named at the top.
How many kits are there at the 2026 World Cup?
With 48 teams each bringing home, away and often third and goalkeeper shirts, more than one hundred jerseys are on show, and one widely shared ranking counted 105 across all the squads. Adidas supplies the most federations at 14, Nike follows with 12 and Puma with 11, with the remaining nations split among smaller brands, so the three giants dress the large majority of the tournament.
What does the France 2026 kit look like?
France's Nike home shirt is a rich royal blue with metallic copper detailing on the badge and swoosh, chosen as a reference to the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States. A tonal zig-zag pattern featuring a stylised F runs across the shirt in alternating blue shades, finished with a white collar. It has been called a 10 out of 10 in several rankings and is the shirt most often named the best of 2026.
What does the Argentina 2026 kit look like?
Argentina's Adidas home kit keeps the iconic sky-blue and white vertical stripes, but each blue stripe is layered in three shades that move from light in the centre to dark at the edges, giving the shirt more depth than a flat print. It carries the two stars plus the world champions badge earned in Qatar in 2022, along with a gold Adidas logo, and it is one of the most admired shirts of the tournament.
What does the England 2026 kit look like?
England's Nike home shirt is a classic white with subtle jacquard patterning in the fabric, thin navy piping along the shoulder and red side inserts edged in navy. Inside the collar is the slogan HAPPY AND GLORIOUS, and a single gold star sits above the crest to mark the 1966 World Cup win. It is a tidy, traditional design, though some reviewers felt it played safe and it sat mid-table in several kit rankings.
What does the Spain 2026 kit look like?
Spain's Adidas home shirt uses a red base with thin repeating yellow pinstripes inspired by the national flag and crest, and the three shoulder stripes appear in red-yellow-red, the colours of the flag. The word Espana sits on the back of the collar, with deep navy shorts and socks completing the look. It is a smart, heritage-led design in keeping with Adidas's 2026 collection.
Who makes the most kits at the 2026 World Cup?
Adidas dresses the most nations at the 2026 World Cup with 14 federations, including Argentina, Germany, Spain, Mexico and Belgium. Nike is next with 12, among them France, England, Brazil, the United States and Portugal, while Puma outfits 11 including Switzerland and several others. The rest of the field wear smaller or regional brands, so the three biggest names account for the large majority of shirts on show.
Which host nations have the best 2026 kits?
Mexico's Adidas shirts usually rank among the tournament's most eye-catching and 2026 is no exception, playing on the green of El Tri with bold graphic detail. The United States and Canada, both in Nike, lean cleaner and more modern. As co-hosts all three had extra attention on their kits, and Mexico's in particular tends to sell heavily and score well with fans, though none quite reached the very top of the 2026 rankings.
What was the worst-rated kit of the 2026 World Cup?
Goalkeeper kits took the wooden spoon in fan voting, with Saudi Arabia's goalkeeper shirt rated the lowest of the whole tournament and the three worst-scoring kits all being goalkeeper designs. That is a common pattern: keepers wear a wider and often more experimental range of colours to stand out from outfield players, so their shirts tend to divide opinion far more than the home and away kits.
Where can I buy 2026 World Cup shirts?
Official shirts are sold through the manufacturers, Nike, Adidas and Puma, through each national federation's own store and through major sports retailers and the FIFA store. Most teams offer a cheaper replica or fan version and a pricier authentic or player-issue version with the on-pitch fabric, typically around 85 to 120 pounds for adults depending on the version. Be wary of heavily discounted listings, as counterfeit World Cup shirts are common.
