About Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton and Hove Albion were founded in 1901 and came within one game of extinction in 1997, saved by supporters who fought off the sale of their ground. Fourteen years of exile and groundshares later, the club moved into the purpose-built AMEX Stadium in 2011.

Promotion to the Premier League followed in 2017, and the Seagulls have never looked back. Their player-trading model became the envy of Europe: buy unknowns brilliantly, develop them, sell at enormous profit, improve anyway.

The 2022/23 season brought a sixth-place finish and the club's first European campaign, with the AMEX hosting Europa League football against Ajax, Marseille and Roma. The rivalry with Crystal Palace, an M23 derby with decades of history, remains the fixture that matters most on the south coast.
