About Racing Santander

Real Racing Club de Santander were founded in 1913 and were one of the ten founder members of La Liga in 1929, a distinction the Cantabrian club wears proudly a century on.

Racing's finest modern hour was qualifying for Europe in 2008 under Marcelino, taking El Sardinero into the UEFA Cup for the first time. The seaside ground, named for the beach beside it, has hosted top-flight football across every era of the Spanish game.

The years since brought ownership chaos, administration and a fall to the third tier, endured by one of the most loyal supports in the north. Back at the top, Racing renew old arguments with their Basque and Galician neighbours and give La Liga back one of its founding names.
