About New York City FC

New York City FC were founded in 2013 by City Football Group and the Yankees, and have played their home games in a baseball cathedral ever since, the oddest great venue in the league.

The 2021 MLS Cup, won on penalties in Portland with Sean Johnson heroic in goal, delivered the five boroughs' first championship and validated the CFG way: Pep-style football scaled to MLS, with David Villa's MVP years the founding legend.

Etihad Park, the club's purpose-built stadium in Queens rising for 2027, will finally give NYCFC a true home. The Hudson River Derby against the Red Bulls carries genuine bite, and the academy now feeds the City network worldwide.

Subscribe once, never miss a kick-off
